couldchecktoseewhichsitesyou'vevisited,hopingtolearn

ButinSafariyoucanturnon"PrivateBrowsing."Whenyoudo

2. Click"SetMasterPassword"andsetapasswordandahint.

3. Click"TurnonFileVault..."tostartFileVault.Thiscantake

EncryptOnlySelectedFilesandFolders

Ifyouhavejustafewfilesorfoldersyouwanttomakesecure,

youmaynotwanttouseFileVaulttoencryptyourentireHome

folder.Instead,youcanstorecriticaldatainsideanencrypted,

password-protecteddiskimage.Thisisnotan"on-the-fly"

feature;thatis,youwillhavetoopenthediskimageeverytime



youwanttousethefile.

Adiskimageisapackageofdata,usefulforstoringfilesorfor

transferringfilestoothers.Youcanchoosetoencrypt,

compress,and/orpassword-protectthedata.



Adiskimagelookslikethis.Double-clickitwhenyouwantto

openit.You'llgetaniconthatlookslikearemovabledrive,as

shownbelow.



Double-clickthiswhitedriveicon.Yourfilesareinside.Ifyouchosethe

"read/write"format(seethenextpage),youcanopenandmakechangesto

thesefiles,addmorefilestothewindow,andtheyareallstillencrypted.

Onceyouopenadiskimage,itisavailablewithoutapassworduntilyoulog

outandbackinagain.

1. Putallthefilesyouwanttoencryptintoasinglefolder.
